Perhaps you're still confuse about what is "key" in audio file. Key is a feature that usually provided in karaoke box or built in at native DVD player or even computer had the "key" change function within the soundcard hardware. Use key to change the music pitch to match with your voice range so you can sing the song with the right pitch.

Key usually symbolize with '#' sign to gain the pitch higher and the 'b' sign to lower the pitch.
The tempo of song won't change when you set new key.
To change the key pitch in your audio file, just open it to adobe audition and choose effects menu - time/pitch - stretch.
Here is stretch dialog box. To set the pitch higher, choose raise pitch preset and set the slider to get the pitch that suitable to you. To set lower, choose lower pitch. Click preview to hear the changes, then OK to apply it.
